This item was really a hype last year, 2018 and 2017 and jars of these were being hoarded from every drug and beauty stores. It was copied by lots of brands but still not equivalent enough to the powers of this gel. This has been featured to many blogs and even to the national tv since it really became popular. I know it’s really common and redundant for this product to be reviewed again. Nevertheless, I still want to review it because it’s just so amazing and worthy. So here goes nothing.

Did you know that the first 5-6 ingredients listed in the ingredients list are the components that make up 80% of the product?
1. Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract
Good ingredient: Related to Aloe Vera, this is the plant extract version that is soothing, moisturizing, healing and has other multiple functions. It is made of 92% ratio that tries to make all of the claims true. This could also be in the form of juice and powder extract.
2. Alcohol
Average ingredient: Alcohols are known as cleansing agents and they could be drying since it helps the penetration of retinol and vitamin c into the skin by breaking down substances and layers of the skin for it to be more effective. Though there are good and bad alcohols, it is advised to avoid using products with alcohol especially for cleansing since this could really disrupt the skin if used daily.
3. Glyceryl Polyacrylate
Good ingredient: It is a blend of glycerin and polymethacrylic acid that could be in the form of thickeners, holding or film-forming agents that enhances texture and application of the product. This also has a smooth finish.
4. Dipropylene Glycol
Good ingredient: A texture enhancer or synthetic slip agent that gives smooth or jelly-like texture to the product and makes it easy to apply into the skin.
5. Butylene Glycol
Good ingredient: It is a texture enhancer that is also commonly used due to its multiple functions. This is safe for cosmetics and even food additive. This has a lighter texture which makes the product easy to apply yet not giving you the heavy or greasy feel.

Packaging
Comes in a big, transparent and plastic tub. It has a plastic, transparent cover upon opening the product which seals and protects in the entire product. It doesn’t have any box when I had it so I could say it has a straightforward packaging.
Texture
It’s obvious that it would feel like jelly or gelatin since it’s made of Aloe Vera. It feels luscious on the skin when first applied and it has cooling after-effects too. It has a slight stickiness feel but it doesn’t last that long.
Color
Transparent white. Almost like white gelatin but softer and denser.

Scent
A mild flowery or aloe scent? I’m not really sure of the scent but one thing’s sure it has a refreshing and relaxing scent. It’s not too strong but for people that are not a fan of scented products, they might not like it.
Directions
It could really be used to any part of the body. As a face mask, apply generous layer onto the skin and leave on the skin for 20-30 minutes before washing it off. As a moisturizer, simply apply a thin layer onto the skin and gently pat to help in better absorption. For hair mask, apply again a generous layer onto the hair and leave for 30 minutes before rinsing off. For general purposes, apply generously to any dry and sensitive parts and do it often to achieve better results.
PH Level

I am quite surprised that this item had an acidic outcome. I expected that it would come out as neutral since aloe vera is supposed to be super moisturizing and has a lot of moisturizing components. Nevertheless the fact that it’s in #6, I think I still could use it since it’s only a point away until it comes to #7.
Pros
1. Very soothing, moisturizing upon use
2. Could also be used as an ointment to scars, cuts, mosquito bites
3. High quality product
4. Comes in a big tub for a cheap price
5. Lasts a long time
6. Functional and could be used into almost every part of the face and body
7. Softens dry, cracked, and chipped skin
8. Could be applied as lip balm or treatment
9. Has a cooling effect
10. Rich texture but doesn’t feel greasy
11. Works well overnight and as a day moisturizer
12. Almost neutral ph level
Cons
1. Not hygienic enough
2. Leaves a sticky feeling
3. It has a scent which others may not like
4. Not travel-friendly since it’s packaging is bulky
5. Claims were not that accurate
6. Some had breakouts on this product
7. It takes a while for it to fully dry and absorb
Verdict
I love that this soothing gel could be used into other purposes. As aloe vera is known for a functional, healing and moisturizing plant, I really love that it really works in soothing irritated skin. I was having allergic reactions last month due to heavy make-up and this helped me in soothing my irritated bumps into my skin. It also softens pimples and helps it to dry faster. I also love the fact that this product came in a big tube and lasts a long time but in a very affordable price. This soothing gel was named as the top best-selling product for the year 2018 and up to now, it’s still being raved into drugstores. Lots of brands have made their own versions of soothing gels but it would always be the Nature Republic’s aloe soothing gel that I would keep on repurchasing. A plus fact that this came in a 300 ML tub but it costs less than 300 pesos! As to its ph level, I would still recommend and repurchase this item because it’s just super effective and i think having a ph level between neutrality and acidity is just the perfect product.
I just hate that this product didn’t came in with a spoon or tool to scoop the gel. It does have a plastic cover to seal in the product but it’s still not enough to protect it from germs and bacteria that could penetrate into the gel since you have to dig in your fingers into the tub and scoop amounts of product. It’s really bothering me so I hope, if ever Nature Republic would do a remodel of the packaging, they will add in a scoop. Though this gel comes in other forms such as sprays and mists, for people like me who wants it from a tub, I demand for the scoop! Another thing that I don’t kind of like is that it’s kind of sticky. Maybe it’s just me or I’m too sensitive but it is sticky when it starts to dry and I hate having sticky feelings. Though it’s sticky when it’s drying out, it still doesn’t give the greasy feels.
Overall, this product is still better than any soothing gel I’ve tried so far. It really does moisturize, soften, heal, refresh, and soothe the skin. 80% of the claims were true and the ingredients were fine. It’s evident that it’s really made up of real aloe vera. Effects could also be seen overnight. Since I use this as my moisturizer, I think I would still be repurchasing it until I find better moisturizer than this. I recommend this to people that are living in a hot, humid country since it’s not a heavy moisturizer and doesn’t feel greasy even sweating so much. Just a precaution though, there are lots of fake brands imitating this brand and product so make sure to just buy to accredited stores.
Effectiveness
Okay so, as I am about to finish this post then I realized that I already ran out and was not capable to repurchase again because of my busy sched so as of now, I could only assure you without the comparison pictures, that this is a super must-have item in your skincare regimen. If I had pimples, I would just put it on top of the pimple and the next day, it’s already about to dry up! I would leave this portion mysterious since I know a lot of reviews have already been up for the past few years and majority of it were positive so if you haven’t tried this yet, now is the time!
